IN-PERSON TRAINING: Building a Strategic Board

Strategic boards distinguish themselves by elevating and improving the community impact their organization seeks to create. Beyond setting goals and objectives, these boards engage in a creative process to determine what is truly needed, devise the best way to use resources to meet those needs, compliment the skills of paid professionals, deploy their influence to attract greater resources, and evaluate organizational effectiveness.

In this two-hour training, you will learn the principles needed to launch and develop a strategic board. These include…

• Fostering a deep dialogue that marries action to impact
• Connecting personal passion to community need
• Tapping into individual creativity and harnessing it to disciplined action
• Building a line of sight that leads to improvement
• Recruiting for strategic skill then expertise

At the end of this workshop, you will have a set of tools to engage board members in developing their strategic capabilities.
