Building a Communications Culture: Five Practices that Enhance Public Engagement – Dallas, Texas

Building strong relationships with your participants and supporters requires a team effort that cuts across all parts of your organization. Effective external communications requires organizational leaders to build a workplace culture that empowers board and staff members to speak in a way that engages your different audiences with compelling messages about the unique value you deliver.

The goal of this workshop is to introduce executive directors, board leadership, and development/communications staff to five practices that will strengthen your organization's communication effort by building a robust communications' culture.

At this workshop, you will learn…
  1. How to motivate board and staff to communicate from your organization’s value proposition
  2. How to help internal stakeholders find the right glue in order to deliver messages that stick
  3. How to transform your strategic plan into a set of public milestones that engages the public interest
  4. How to help board and staff members understand their role in capturing value on behalf of the organization

Each of these practices will be explored through specific examples, exercises, and time for shared discussion and reflection.
