Minneapolis/Saint Paul

Roadmap to an Effective Strategic Plan: How to create a plan that engages the public to help you meet your goals

The effective strategic plan is the one that becomes the public’s roadmap for investment in your organization’s cause. It creates a vision for how you are going to enhance the value that you create for those you serve and those who support your work. Here, goals are transformed into compelling public milestones that when articulated welcome the larger community to join your effort bringing their resources to bear on the issues and needs that you are striving to address.

During this workshop, the framework for constructing a Public Milestone Strategic Plan will be shared.

At this workshop, you will learn...
  1. How to design an assessment that helps you understand the larger role your organization is or can be playing in the community.
  2. How to build a value proposition (Organizational Promise) that clarifies what you believe your organization is best at delivering to the world.
  3. How to construct compelling milestones that address operational needs from the perspective of enhancing public value.
  4. How to articulate these milestones in order to broaden and deepen donor support.

This workshop is ideal for staff and board leadership considering or about to embark on a strategic planning process. By the end of the workshop, you will understand how you can use your long range vision to forward your resource development effort.
